What Are the Best Flooring Options

When it comes to types of flooring, most people commonly think of either marble or tiles. However, there are a number of flooring options available out there. Some of them are common, while others are not. Each of these options has its own merits in terms of cost, aesthetics, durability, and other factors.

Marble Flooring: Marble is a naturally occurring material that you can find at various places. Associated with style, marble is available in a variety of colors including pink, grey, and white. The material is highly porous and easy to maintain, sometimes lasting more than 25 years. But, some low-quality stones tend to turn yellowish over the years.

Tile Flooring: They come in a large variety of colors, designs, prints, and textures. Tiles can also simulate natural materials such as wood, bamboo, and even marble. They have a low water absorption rate and are durable. Floor tiles are an affordable option for both interior and exterior use.

Vinyl Flooring: Vinyl Flooring is another option that is available for people who prefer aesthetics at an efficient cost. Stain resistance and water resistance make these floors quite durable. It’s relatively inexpensive. It makes the floor more shock-absorbent, important when standing for long periods or accidentally dropping dishes. However, special care has to be taken to protect the floor from scratches. One low point with vinyl is its possibility of discoloration when it comes in contact with rubber.

Mat Flooring: Floor mats come in many styles and colors. Soundproofing qualities make it the quietest flooring choice. This unique material is thick enough to avoid indentations when walked on but light enough to easily roll up for storage/transport. PVC floor mats are waterproof and have anti-slip properties, sound dampening, and chemical resistance.

Granite Flooring: A naturally occurring stone available in a variety of colors, granite flooring can bring a note of sophistication to any setting. Due to its high durability and stain resistance, granite is easy to maintain and only needs protection from scratches. Granite keeps cool for most parts of the year and hence is a good choice.

Final Thoughts

A new floor can be an investment, so your floor choice should balance your needs with your style. Picking the best type of flooring for your space depends on your budget, lifestyle, and personal tastes. Each type has its unique benefits, and determining which flooring is best depends on your needs.
